Stillwater Lift Bridge Schedule Begins May 15

New "bridge tenders" — or people who operate the bridge — need to be trained in before the season begins.

STILLWATER, MN — The 2020 Stillwater Lift Bridge season will begin at 8 a.m. on May 15, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced. Until then, new "bridge tenders" — or people who operate the bridge — will be trained in.

Until then, MnDOT will lift the bridge with a 24-hour notification at (651) 234-7110.

When the season begins, the bridge will open every 30 minutes between 8 a.m. and midnight, seven days a week. Lift bridge season will end in October.

Special requests outside of that time will need to be called with two hours' notice.

Requests via marine radio should be called in via channel 16.
