The Stillwater Lift Bridge will close to vehicle traffic at noon Wednesday while MnDOT crews replace a frayed cable.
The bridge is expected to open to motorists by 4 p.m.

MnDOT was able to locate the needed cable locally for the bridge.
Weather permitting, crews expect to have the lift bridge fully operational and open to water traffic by the end of week.

On Sunday night, a bridge operator detected a frayed cable on the lift system of the bridge. As a precaution, the normal lift schedule was suspended.
