Stillwater Police Reserves Applications Now Being Accepted

Those interested in this volunteer unit of the police department have until Feb. 17 to apply. No law enforcement experience is required.

STILLWATER, MN — Though the Fourth of July fireworks over the St. Croix River and Lumberjack Days were canceled in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic, city leaders hope both will return this year. Once again, the city will rely upon members of the Stillwater Police Department Reserve Unit to assist with patrols at these events.

Those interested in becoming a reserve officer have until Feb. 17 to complete and submit an application, which is available on the City of Stillwater website. No law enforcement experience, training or education is required.

The Stillwater Police Reserve Officers are a group of non-sworn, non-paid, uniformed members of the police department, who hail from Stillwater and surrounding areas. These volunteers provide support services during special events, conduct squad patrol and assist the police department when additional personnel is needed.
