Stillwater's Upper Loop Trail Project: Upcoming Closures

Here's what to expect on Highway 95 in Stillwater.

STILLWATER, MN — If you’re traveling on Highway 95 between Highway 36 and Nelson Street in Stillwater you’ll encounter single lane traffic with flaggers beginning at 9 a.m. April 19 as construction crews begin removing trees and brush along Highway 95.

Transit officials ask that motorists use an alternate route to avoid congestion and delays during single lane traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays through April 27.

The work on Highway 95 will consist of constructing the Upper Loop Trail portion in Minnesota.

The Loop Trail consists of a number of segments that will be completed by 2019. The main portion of the Minnesota and Wisconsin Loop Trail was constructed in 2015 and 2016.

Construction of the remaining portions of the Loop Trail will occur in 2018 and 2019, with only the Lift Bridge portion remaining incomplete until 2019. By summer of 2019, the Loop Trail is expected to be fully operational.
