The moon was at perigee—its closest approach to Earth, last weekend. That means the moon was only 221,824 miles away from us.
EarthSky says the Supermoon was officially full at 6:32 a.m. CDT Sunday, with the actual perigee about 20 minutes earlier, according to Astronomy, and was full on June 23, 2013.
EarthSky says this is the closest the moon will be to Earth until Aug. 10, 2014.
These photos were shot Sunday night at the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater. If you were out shooting the moon on Sunday, please share a link to your photos in the comments or post your photos on our boards.
