Video: St. Croix River Dangerously Fast, High After Storm
The rising river levels across the region will have an impact on Lumberjack Days this weekend in Stillwater.
Stillwater, MN – Flooding from recent storms will have an impact on Lumberjack Days this weekend in Stillwater.
Various activities were planned for Lowell Park, but the rising St. Croix river will push some Lumberjack Days activities from the park onto nearby parking lots, according to a news release.

According to KSTP, Tim Moore of Stillwater Public Works said that seventy-five percent of the park will be underwater. "We've been through it more than once. We'll deal with it; we always do."

Recent video shows the St. Croix at Taylors Falls with extremely high and fast moving water. The paddleboat landing is hardly visible.
Another video shows the dangerously high levels at upper Namekagon River near Cable, WI:
The river is expected to crest July 17 at 685.2 feet and remain above 683 feet until July 21.

The National Park Service has closed all river landings on the St. Croix.
