Washington County's Karin Housley Files For US Senate Race
The filing comes on the heels of Housley's endorsement at the Republican Party's state convention last weekend in Duluth.

Minnesota State Sen. Karin Housley has officially filed to run in the special election for United States Senate Monday. The filing comes on the heels of Housley’s endorsement at the Republican Party’s state convention last weekend in Duluth.
Housley currently represents Washington County in the Minnesota Legislature. She also runs a real estate business in Stillwater.
"Since we began this journey in December, our campaign’s message has struck a chord with Minnesotans across the state," Housley said in a statement. "People are tired of the partisan logjam and obstruction that has prevented anything from getting done – and this campaign aims to change that. I’m thrilled to make it official."

"But the hard work is just beginning. Over the next five months, we’ll be visiting all corners of our state, learning more about the challenges Minnesotans are facing, and talking about how we can work together for meaningful change. By working hard, playing fair, and doing the right thing, we can win this race."
Minnesota’s primary election is Aug. 14 and the general election is Nov. 6.
