
was given the Red Quill Award for 2011 by ACT Midwest Region, the organization that offers a range of assessment, research and program management services, including the ACT test. The award is given annually to recognize selected schools for analyzing and using data effectively to support curricular and instructional changes and enhancements based on the needs of students. Fewer than 25 percent of the schools vying for the award are honored.
When notifying BSM of this honor, Phillip Daniel, Red Quill Committee chairman, noted “…[Y]our institution and staff clearly demonstrated dedication and focus through your efforts to provide all students with exceptional opportunities to succeed.” He added, “Your students have consistently demonstrated high levels of achievement that have been validated by meaningful data from ACT’s College and Career Readiness System.”
