BSM Wins Baseball Opener, SLP Falls
Thursday was opening day for the two St. Louis Park programs.
It wasn't just opening day for a number of Major League Baseball teams on Thursday. Minnesota high school baseball got underway, too.
Locally, blasted North Branch 12-0 at home. BSM scored all 12 of those runs in the first three innings, as the Red Knights pulled away from the Vikings early.
Marcus Barone kept North Branch at bay, allowing just one hit over four innings of work while walking one and striking out five. Jimmy Heck completed the shutout by pitching a clean fifth inning.

Over at , the Orioles didn't have the same success on opening day, falling to St. Francis, 6-4. Individual statistics were not immediately available.
BSM's next game is Tuesday at home against Fridley. The Orioles will host Totino-Grace on Tuesday.
