Last Remaining Boston Market In Minnesota Closes
The Minnesota restaurant was among 45 locations shuttered as part of a company-wide restructuring, according to reports.
ST. LOUIS PARK, MN — Rotisserie chicken chain Boston Market closed the doors to its last Minnesota location Sunday, part of a company-wide restructuring plan that resulted in several closures nationwide, according to reports. The restaurant was located 5300 Excelsior Blvd. in St. Louis Park.
The Golden, Colo.-based chain owned by Sun Capital Partners Inc. ended 2018 with 454 locations. Over the past week, the company closed a total of 45 locations, comprising 10 percent of its unit base.
At one point, there were several Boston Markets in the Twin Cities, including in Eagan, Apple Valley and Richfield, Bring Me The News reported. However, in recent years, those locations were also shuttered.

In a letter to employees that was shared with media, CEO Frances Allen said the closures were a result of a “broad-based analysis” of locations. She also cited cited “shifting consumer preferences and rising costs.”
Staff at the St. Louis Park location will reportedly receive severance pay.
