Plenty to Do in St. Louis Park for St. Patty's
Here's a quick look at some St. Patrick's Day weekend fun.

St. Patrick, meet St. Louis Park. We think you're going to get along quite well.
Yes, St. Patrick's Day weekend is here, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate in the Park. Here are a few of them:
The Great Irish Sleepover
- Where:
- When: Happy hour begins at 4 p.m. Friday. Festivities run through Saturday
- Details: Why start the celebration on Friday afternoon? For one, it's fun, but more importantly, it's in anticipation of the start of St. Patrick's Day in the motherland. Midnight in Ireland is 6 p.m. Friday in Minnesota, hence the early start. There will be music (including bagpipes) and revelry all night, then more of it all day Saturday. Plus, you can get a special rate at the attached Marriott Minneapolis West when you mention the "Great Irish Sleepover." For more, see Kip's website.
St. Patrick's Day at Park Tavern
- Where:
- When: Starting at noon Saturday
- Details: Hello, drink specials. The Park Tavern will feature $1 off Guinness and Killians, $7 whiskey flights featuring 2 Gingers and Jameson, and countless other specialties, such as Irish Car Bombs and Irish Coffee. There should be some pretty good food, too, including corned beef and cabbage. For more, see Park Tavern's website.
St. Patrick's Day at Cooper Irish Pub
- Where:
- When: Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday
- Details: If you're looking for some live music on St. Patty's Day, Cooper might be your place. Three Irish bands will be playing from 4:45 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Plus, Cooper is always a great place for a drink, such as a 2 Gingers whiskey. For more, see Cooper's Facebook page.
Johnny Holm at Toby O' Keith's
- Where:
- When: 9:30 p.m. Saturday
- Details: Sure, this is a country bar, but Toby Keith's is getting in the St. Patty's Day spirit. The well-respected—and well-traveled—Johnny Holm Band will be on hand to entertain.
- Tickets: $10; available online
At noon on Friday, we'll also unveil our Readers' Choice for best St. Patrick's Day hangout in St. Louis Park. But wherever you go, we're sure it'll be fun. Just make sure to celebrate responsibly!
