Shakespeare Meets Elvis For SLP HS Musical

"All Shook Up" premieres Nov. 9.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from St. Louis Park Public Schools.

A sleepy 1950s town is set ablaze with the arrival of Chad, a roaming roustabout whose seductive smile and swiveling hips ignite fashion trends, dance crazes, and love triangles. Based loosely on the characters of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” Natalie, a tomboy greasemonkey, is so blinded by Chad’s charms that she overlooks the love of her friend Dennis. She soon realizes the best way to endear herself to Chad is to become his new sidekick, under the guise of “Ed.” Chad, in the meantime, falls for the town’s high-class museum curator, Miss Sandra, who wants nothing to do with Chad and his hound dog ways. Other unexpected couples can’t help falling in love, despite social taboos and their own prejudices.

Evening performances of the musical are November 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 7:00pm, November 11 and 18 at 2:00pm. All performances will be held in the high school auditorium, located along the West 33rd St. entrance.  General admission tickets are available at the door 30 minutes prior to each performance: adults=$10, students and senior citizens=$7.
