St. Louis Park Elected Officials Meet With Representatives Of The Royal Thai Consulate-General

Discussion at the meeting included Asian American Pacific Islander community successes, challenges and needs.

On May 13, 2021, a delegation from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chicago, Ill., met with St. Louis Park Mayor Jake Spano and Ward 2 Councilmember Lynnette Dumalag. Also attending were members of Wat Promwachirayan (Wat Thai of MN) and Sia Her, executive director of the Minnesota Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans. Discussion at the meeting included Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community successes, challenges and needs. Wat Promwachirayan and Thai Cultural Council President Yin Muangmode were recognized for their enriching and excellent additions to the City of St. Louis Park. Additionally, Mayor Spano highlighted a recently passed resolution by the city council which denounced hate and violence against the AAPI community.
