PEMBROKE, NH — Capital region firefighters were kept busy with a house fire in Pembroke on Monday.
At 11:20 p.m., Pembroke firefighters were sent to Borough Road for a fire at a single-family home. Capital Region fire dispatch also sent firefighters from Allenstown, Canterbury, Concord, and Hooksett as well as the Tri-Town Ambulance to assist. Dispatch said while all the occupants had self-evacuated from the two-story Ranch, there were animals still inside. A homeowner reported a fire coming from the back of the building.
When the battalion commander arrived, he said the fire was "well-involved" and requested a second alarm. Dispatch then requested more firefighters from Epsom, Loudon, Hopkinton, and Hooksett to assist with the fire as well as mutual aid, covering the town.
