A Walk for a great cause!!

One of the many joys about doing my twice weekly radio show on WKXL, "Downtown Dialogues" is the opportunity to spotlight some of the many worthy and important organizations and agencies that play a role in our community. Concord is fortunate in having hundreds of individuals giving of their time and talent to making better the lives of those less fortunate. No matter what problem or issue may beset you, there's a good chance that you can find help, seek direction, or assistance in coping with the problem, whether it is short term or life altering.

The New Hampshire Association for the Blind is located over on Walker Street in the same building where I attended grammar school when it was St. Peter's School. They serve the entire State with a plethora of services that help not only those affected by sight loss or blindness but also providing support and support services to the family, friends and loved ones of those struggling with this loss.

Glenn Gunn, who is their Orientation and Mobility Instructor, stopped by the show the other afternoon to talk about their work and their upcoming major fundraising event, the 3K Walk for Sight. It's scheduled for this Saturday, June 7th and registration begins at 10:00 AM in the parking lot of their offices at 25 Walker Street.

Glenn has been doing this work for some 35 years and in an increasingly transient world, his continued passion and dedication to helping others is an inspiration as is the work of the NH Association for the Blind.
