Attempted Stabbing, Assault By 2 Reported At Concord?s 7-Eleven: Video

A man and a woman are accused of attempting to assault a store clerk Sunday night after he asked them to leave the South Main Street store.

CONCORD, NH ? Concord police are investigating an attempted knife attack and attempted assault at a store on South Main Street on Sunday night.

Just before 8:15 p.m., police dispatch sent several officers to the 7-Eleven regarding an incident. The victim, a store clerk, stated two homeless people entered the store and were asked several times to leave. After they refused, the store clerk tried to escort them out. The clerk then accused one person of taking a swing at him and the other of pulling out a knife and attempting to stab him.

The pair, a man and a woman, then ran toward the homeless camps behind the store. The man was wearing a tan jacket and jeans with scruffy hair and a beard, while the woman was wearing a black coat, a white T-shirt, and a pink hat, carrying a blue shopping bag.

Several officers arrived to investigate the incident, while others scoured the area for potential suspects.

News 603 posted a video from the scene on Facebook.

Officers began checking the wood line along the property.

Later, police learned the suspects had the clerk?s cellphone. Police spoke to two witnesses, including one who was from California. During the investigation, police confirmed it was two people, and one had a knife.

?I?m just trying to get to the bottom of this and figure out what we can find,? one officer said.

A man, in his late 30s, who matched the description of one of the parties and was known to police due to several arrests, was questioned on Hall Street. Another man, in his early 30s, was also interviewed and was carrying a knife, an officer said.

A woman at one of the camps was also questioned and admitted to being at the store about 10 or 15 minutes before, according to scanner chatter.

Around 8:30 p.m., dispatch said New Hampshire State Police were bringing a K-9 unit.

Police did not know whether any merchandise was stolen from the store during the incident.

Around 9:15 p.m., a store manager arrived and provided police with additional pictures of the suspects, taken from different angles inside the store.

About 15 minutes later, an officer in the field said he had the name of a possible suspect involved in the incident.

Just past 10 p.m., other officers cleared the homeless camps search.
