If you are as anxious to hop into spring as many of us are, mark your calendars for the dates of April 3, 4, and 5. That's when the Fifth Annual EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA arrives at the Bektash Shrine Center in Concord. ConcordTV, the home of TV channels 6, 17 and 22, is proud to once again present this fun-filled festival for family and friends. It is the perfect family outing for a spring afternoon – no matter what the weather might be.
Jim Webber, the Marketing "guru" at ConcordTV enthuses that this year's event may be the best yet and that's saying something. The folks at ConcordTV have been spending hundreds of hours in preparation for what has necome a local tradition for many.
EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA features a spectacular raffle of 150 Easter gift baskets to win, live entertainment throughout the weekend, crafts and activities for kids, special raffles for older folks, a silent auction and fun characters available for “selfies” – including The Easter Bunny!

25 Basket Raffle tickets are only $5.00, so everyone can try their luck at winning the colorful Easter baskets (valued at approx. $50 each.) The colorful display features themed baskets for all ages and for every taste. (Basket themes include gardening, barbecue, crafts, cosmetics, Star Wars, fashion accessories, man-cave, the movies – and many more.) The baskets are donated to the event by generous local businesses, nonprofits and individuals in order to support ConcordTV.
Raffle winners are announced on Sunday evening, April 5th after 5pm. (As long as you answer the phone, you don’t need to be present to win.) Special raffles at the event include 50/50 and a Gift Card Extravaganza Basket ($1.00 per chance or 6 for $5.00.)

While the adults are selecting baskets to win, kids can get involved with activities, crafts and games presented by Intown Concord, McAuliffe Shepard Discovery Center, Concord Public Library, Daniel Webster Council Scouts, Girl Scouts of Green & White Mountains and Relay for Life. In advance of the event, kids can participate in a coloring contest, with winning entries displayed at the festival. See the details at concordeaster.org.
The EGGSTRAVAGANZA wouldn’t be complete without a full line up of family-friendly live entertainment that runs throughout the weekend. Saturday’s shows includes, the NH Accordion Association at 11am, followed by Jonsey’s Reptiles at 2 – and In The Field Irish Dancers at 4:30pm. Saturday night is time for talent, with DJ Lance Tremblay’s Karaoke Time at 6pm. On Sunday, kids will love seeing the mini horses from Back In The Saddle out near the gazebo in the rear parking lot, Mike Bilodeau on guitar at noon, and at 2pm the merry madrigal singers of Myschyffe Managed take the stage. Of course, the star of the event is The Easter Bunny – who has promised to be available for hugs and photos every other half hour.
The spacious Bektash Shrine Center is located at 189 Pembroke Road in Concord, close to Steeplegate Mall and Route 106. It features off street parking and accessible facilities.
EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA runs Friday, April 3 (3pm to 8pm), Saturday, April 4 (9am to 8pm) and Sunday, April 5 (10am to 5pm). Friday is free for seniors. Regular admission is $5.00 (for all three days), $4.00 for students or seniors. Young people age 12 and under are free at all times. Admission and raffle tickets are available at the door.
