Celebration of Life Planned for Sullivan on Aug. 9

Woman's Club of Concord will memorialize Eileen Sullivan at the Chamberlin House.

The Woman’s Club of Concord will hosts a celebration of life event in the memory of Eileen Sullivan who passed away from cancer this week after a 12-year battle with the disease. She was 66.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Chamberlin House on Pleasant Street.

According to her obituary, Sullivan graduated from Concord High School in the mid-1960s. She enjoyed traveling and made many friends throughout the United States. Sullivan was also very active in the group. The family will be holding private services at a later date.

“What a treasure and inspiration she was to so many people in her life and all the women of the WCC,” stated Mia McGhee, president of the group, in an email to members and the press. “This feisty lady lit the room up wherever she went and her love and happiness could be felt as soon as you got anywhere near her. The Grand Dame of the WCC, as a friend called her, will be dearly missed.”

Treasurer Jodi Naughton is using funds that were donated to pay for a trip for Sullivan to be used for a scholarship fund in her name. McGhee noted that she loved helping out with the planning committee and on fundraising events.
