Concord Firefighters Rescue Tenants Trapped During Apartment Fire
2 dwellers who jumped from a third-floor at the Pines Apartments did not require transport; second fire was reported in Bicentennial Square.
CONCORD, NH — Fires at an apartment building on Bog Road and a building in Bicentennial Square kept Concord firefighters busy on Friday.
Around 12:30 a.m., Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to 1 Bicentennial Square for a report of smoke in the building. When they arrived, a fire was found in a second-floor bathroom and an extinguisher was used to contain it, according to Chief Sean Brown of the Concord Fire Department.
While at that fire, an alarm activation was reported at the Pines Apartments on Bog Road.

"While companies were en route to the scene, Concord Fire Alarm started receiving phone calls of a fire on the third floor of Building 3 with people trapped in the building," Brown said. "Companies arrived on scene and immediately went to work rescuing trapped occupants using ground ladders and a tower-ladder."
One person jumped from a third-floor unit while another dropped a child down to firefighters before jumping themselves, he said. Multiple residents were checked but none required transportation to the hospital, Brown added.
