Concord Native Murdered in the Philippines
Police in that country still looking for the killer. A memorial service will be held on Sept. 3.

A Concord native was murdered earlier this month near his home in the Philippines, according to WMUR-TV.
Matthew Caldwell, 59, was shot and killed on his birthday, according to the report, after an argument with a security guard at a subdivision where he was living. The guard allegedly shot Caldwell and fled, according to a family member.
Caldwell was living in the country working as an engineer and diver for the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He attended Bishop Brady High School and UNH. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3, at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Pleasant Street.
