Concord School Holds Drive-Thru Parade For 8th Graders: Watch
Rundlett eighth-graders participated in a drive-thru promotion parade — while all the students created a celebration video on Thursday.
CONCORD, NH — While some students cringed and their parents laughed, smiled, and drove, staffers at Rundlett Middle School said goodbye to their eighth-graders on Thursday as they enjoy the summer and head to Concord High School to continue their education later this year.
The Class of 2025 and their families drove up the driveway, often with decorated vehicles or hanging out of windows and sunroofs, honking horns and cranking on noisemakers as staffers offered "good lucks" and well-wishes for success at high school, and blew bubbles, waved, and cheered their students on, too.
At the end of the drive, the students were given a CHS bag with a map inside.

Paulette Fitzgerald, the school's principal, said the school could not host its traditional sendoff, for the second year in a row, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"They have had a really tough year … a really challenging year," she said. "I think it's good for the kids and the teachers. It's good for everybody."

Fitzgerald said it was a huge milestone and also bittersweet, too.
"They will be in good hands there," she said of the students' elevation to high school.
Rundlett students also participated in a celebration video, too, on Thursday, spelling out "RMS" on the school's playing field, waving, while a drone shot video from the sky.
