CONCORD TV - It's More than Local!
After 20 years, Concord TV provides a lot more than you'd imagine.

Concord Community TV (Concord TV) held their seventh annual Concord On Air this past Sunday the 28th. During the eight hours of the live broadcast they kept their word that the "City of Concord and its people are the stars". Everyone from Mayor Bouley to the Chamber President, Tim Sink, Byron Champlin, Concord High Principal Tom Sica, Matt Newton who heads the NH Television and Film Office, Joe Gleason from the Capitol Center, the ever buoyant Jennifer Kretovic, who livened things up with her costuming, as well as Concord TV personalities, local beloved figures like Carol Bagan and Chris Demers and dozens of others. They all turned out because Concord TV matters. Along the way they also honored individuals and businesses that deserve recognition including teachers, artists, businesses and city employees to name just a few.
There was a time not too many years ago when the notion of "Community access television" was either a punchline to a very bad joke or the mention of it would result in eye-rolling. Some of it might have been justified in some places but during the last two decades, Concord TV has evolved into a very important component in our community and surrounding towns. I often hear from individuals who tell me about watching Concord TV and how grateful they are to have the variety of offerings available to them.
Sports, local government, informative, entertaining, enlightening programming, much of it hosted by people from our area, willing to volunteer their time to share their skill, talent or knowledge. I recently started doing a half-hour talk show, "Capital Area Chats" and find myself enormously impressed by the passion displayed by not only the Concord TV Staff but by the many volunteers who work at the station. Youngsters in grade school attend video camps and create short films that belie their years.

Doris Ballard, the Executive Director, is quick to tell anyone that she doesn't do it by herself. She gives credit to the team that has been assembled including Josh, Melissa, Mike, Jim, Justin, Steve, Emmett and the others who seamlessly work together.
