Concord's Kimball-Jenkins named as one of "Seven to Save"

Concord's historic and sprawling Kimball-Jenkins Estate was named as one of "Seven to Save" by the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance this week.

Located at 266 North Main Street in Concord, the Estate also houses the Kimball-Jenkins School of Art and the facility is available for rental for weddings, receptions and other events. There are also several art galleries which present exhibits featuring local artists as well as exhibits from outside the community.

The Alliance selected the Kimball-Jenkins Estate because it has struggled for three decades to honor the last owner's request that the facility "serve the creative needs of the city".

Recently Ryan Linehan, the Executive Director of the Kimball-Jenkins Estate and School of Art, paid a visit to "Downtown Dialogues", my twice weekly show on WKXL. We talked at length about the challenges facing the Estate as well as the School of Art and the importance of having the facility in our city.
