For several years I lived in Los Angeles while working at CBS Television City.
Living in an area so consumed with appearance, I became very conscious of the importance of taking care of your skin and, for that matter, all other aspects of yourself both physical and mental.
The first time I walked into Lotions 'n Potions at 25 North Main Street in Concord, I thought for an instant that I was back in Beverly Hills. The store (from their always imaginatively decorated windows to their exquisitely appointed interior), instantly transforms you to a place of peace, tranquility and a desire to be all that you can and should be.
The store, run by Julie Cooke and Andrew Hatch, provides a seemingly endless array of products and services to enhance and complement all parts of your body. Even better, the services and products provided are very affordable for just about any budget.
Since walking through the door back in 2006, shortly after the store opened, I have been a regular visitor, whether when seeking out a gift that would be deemed "truly special" or using products that protect the skin against the ravages of a New Hampshire winter or treating myself to one of their treatments.
Lotions 'n Potions provides everything from facial treatments that'll have your skin feeling as though it's been aired out, to pedicures, waxings, tinting, make-up and everything in between.
Last week Julie and Andrew dropped by WKXL to chat with me on "Downtown Dialogues" about their business and how they stumbled upon Concord, not intending to open a business here.
In the years since they've become a mainstay in our downtown community.
Listen in to our chat and then check out their fabulous store. With the holidays approaching, I guarantee you'll find something for yourself and for that special person on your list.
