According to Concord Police Deputy Chief John Thomas, "an intense joint investigation" between police, the fire department, and the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office led to Mcewen as a suspect. He was arrested on Thursday on the charges and arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court.
Mcewen was arrested in December 2017, after firefighters were sent to dumpster fires at the Cumberland Farms on Fisherville Road in October and November 2017. At the time, he lived nearby, on Woodbine Avenue. He pleaded guilty to the arson charges in February 2018 and received a six-months suspended sentence.
