Crash Closes Busy Concord North End Streets: Watch

Concord police and firefighters assisted two drivers on Wednesday after their cars crashed at the intersection of Penacook, Rumford streets.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to the intersection of Penacook and Rumford streets for a crash on Wednesday.

Around 12:15 p.m., dispatch began receiving reports about two cars crashing — with one blocking the intersection. Early reports said there were no injuries but there was major damage to at least one of the vehicles.

After being examined, both drivers refused treatment and firefighters cleared to head to The Friendly Kitchen for a report of a person choking. Police had officers diverting traffic onto Jennings Drive on one section of the accident while waving traffic around each side of Rumford Street, waiting for tow trucks to arrive to clear the vehicles.

As of 1:15 p.m., traffic was still closed on part of Penacook Street.
