Concord's justly fabled theater company, the Community Players of Concord, NH, raise the curtain this week on "Monty Python's Spamalot".
The organization is marking it's 86th Season of bringing the finest musicals, dramas, mysteries and comedies to the area and have come a long way since their initial production of "The Mollusc" back in 1927.
The current offering promises the same level of outstanding production values that have been a hallmark of the organization. The talent that has trod the stage of Concord's beloved City Auditorium in hundreds of productions for hundreds of thousands of satisfied audience members, is matched by the skilled talent that are not always visible to the audience. They include directors, set and costume designers, musicians and all of those back-stage individuals who work tirelessly to help create the on-stage magic.
The current production is directed by Doug Schwarz, a familiar name and face to local audiences. He's directed before, has held the position of President of the organization and has worked on numerous productions in various capacities. Recently he was in the cast of the Player's successful production of "The Mousetrap".
Doug joined me at WKXL this week to chat with me on "Downtown Dialogues" about "Spamalot" which opens at the "audi" this Friday evening, November 22nd at 7:30 and continues Saturday evening at the same time with a Sunday matinee at 2 PM.
