Dead Body On Concord Trail Call A False Alarm: Watch

Concord police and firefighters were sent to Sewalls Falls to investigate a body that turned out to be a man passed out along a trail.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and firefighters were called to a Concord trail on Thursday for a report of a dead body that turned out to be a false alarm.

Around 9:45 a.m., 911 received a call from a woman who was walking her dog in the Sewalls Falls Recreation Area when she came across the body of a man in his 30s on the ground that appeared to be dead. Dispatch told officers the woman and her dog attempted to revive the man but he was not waking up. Fire dispatch speculated that it might be a "code gray" call, the lingo for a dead person. Police arrived at the scene first, with an officer attempting to make his way through one part of the trail, while firefighters sent out an ATV unit, too.

A second ATV unit prepared to approach the area from the north of the trail. While the second unit was getting ready to deploy, the first arriving officer was able to wake up the man.

"Alright, he just sat up," the officer said. "He's awake."

The man was treated by firefighters but it turned out he had an active electronic bench warrant and was arrested.
