Granite State Roller Derby brings roller derby to the New Hampshire Lakes
Region on July 12, 2014 vs. Hartford Area Roller Derby
The Granite State Roller Derby (GSRD) All Stars will take on
Hartford Area Roller Derby (HARD) on Saturday, July 12 at Laconia Ice Rink at
468 Province Road in Laconia. GSRD’s home teams, The Demolition Dames and The
Fighting Finches, will bout as the second game in the event’s double-header.
Doors open at 4 p.m. for both bouts. GSRD All-Stars vs. HARD
begins at 5 p.m. and the home teams immediately following. Off track, fans can
create posters, participate in raffles, sign up for “Chuck a Wheel” for great
prizes including tickets to the Camping World RV Sales 301 NASCAR race at NH
Motor Speedway on July 13, meet the skaters and other family-friendly
activities. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Children 5 and
younger are admitted free. Advance tickets are available through the league’s
website at granitestaterollerderby.com or Spank Alley Stake and Board Shop at
59 South Main Street in Concord.

explain the rules. Flat track roller derby is a fast-paced contact team sport
that requires speed, strategy, and athleticism. The flat track version of the
sport evolved in 2001, and has quickly grown to encompass more than 400 leagues
worldwide. Founded in 2010, Granite State Roller Derby is based in Concord, NH
and is a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, the sport’s
international governing body. GSRD is a registered New Hampshire nonprofit
organization that works in partnership with local charitable organizations in
