GRAY, ME — The National Weather Service issued both "winter weather advisory" and "hazardous weather outlook" alerts on Tuesday warning of a storm that could deliver 3 to 5 inches of snow during the next 24 to 36 hours.

The snow is expected to start between 5 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday and run through noon on Wednesday — although the storm may linger on the Seacoast later.

"Low pressure moving out of the Ohio Valley will spread snowfall northeast into New England this evening," the advisory alert said. "Snowfall intensity will generally be decreasing as it arrives into New Hampshire and spreads into western Maine. However, an area of 3 to 5 inches of snowfall is expected mainly over southwest New Hampshire. Snow decreases in intensity Wednesday morning, although localized bands of accumulating snowfall could continue."
