You don't have to be a film aficionado to know the name Bob Pingree. However, if you do love and appreciate film, his name will immediately resonate with you.
A retired Concord High School teacher, Bob is busier than ever and continues to share his lifelong celluloid passion with hundreds of area residents, many of whom have taken his classes through the Granite State College OLLI Program.
He's teaching another in January and I would urge everyone to visit the school's website and check it out. The class is entitled, "Did you Miss These?" and focuses on four great films from the 80's that are worth a look. Here is the link to the school:

The Holiday Season is well upon us and on television we are inundated with movies on the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime that will never become classics, no matter how hard they try.
Fortunately there is a plethora of movies from the 30's through the 80's that are also showing up and I know that we each have particular favorites, for any number of reasons.
This week I invited Bob Pingree to stop by WKXL and chat with me on "Downtown Dialogues" about some of the films set during the holidays that should be viewed or avoided. It makes for a highly informative and entertaining show. You can check us out at:

You may be surprised by some of his choices but I'm already checking some of them out myself and they're certainly worth a viewing.
