Walter Healey, 66, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. on May 22 on false fire alarms, two criminal trespass charges, breach of bail, and loitering or prowling charges. Police were sent to Market Basket on Fort Eddy Road for a report of an alarm being pulled. When they arrived, they saw Healey and accused him of “stumbling around on the sidewalk.” The reporting officer, who knew Healey from “numerous police contacts,” doubled-checked to see if he was still trespassed from the property, and that order was active. About five days before, Healey was arrested and let out on bail. On May 14, he was also accused of being at the Market Basket and pulling an alarm at the store. An officer spoke to a Market Basket staffer and they accused Healey of “banging on and pulling at the doors of the store.” The employee requested he leave and he did, the report said. Later, the alarm went off. Concord firefighters confirmed the alarm that was pulled was from the outside of the store, an affidavit stated. The reporting officer eyed security video footage and saw “a shadowy figure consistent with Healey’s appearance” that “appeared to touch something on the wall” at the same time the alarm went off. No one else was seen in the surveillance footage. Healey was arrested and held without bail.
