How much is that Doggie at the Farmer's Market???

For the hundreds and hundreds who have been making a weekly pilgrimage out to Cole Gardens to enjoy the Winter Farmer's Market, this Saturday the 12th is your last opportunity until fall. It has been an amazing way to temporarily forget about the winter we've experienced, replete with icy cold temps, snow, and assorted other unpleasant weather conditions - unless you thrive on that season, as many do.

This week's Farmer's Market will be something very special thanks to the Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County. If you've ever even remotely thought of adopting a pet and providing them with a great home, you can take a major step toward realizing that dream this Saturday.

There will be on-site pets to meet, cuddle and begin the adoption process. How can you resist?

If you bring along a donation of pet food, toys, cleaning supplies or anything from the SPCA "Wish List" (available at www.concordspca.org), you'll receive a special discount on plant purchases that day at Cole Gardens as well as an entry into a special raffle to be held. With spring finally raising its head, planting season can't be too far off.

The Pope Memorial SPCA is getting ready to relocate to their new site on Silk Farm Road and so this event is a great way to help them out, bring a new member to your family, visit the amazing vendors who have been a mainstay of the Winter Farmer's Market and just have some good old fashioned fun.

This week on my WKXL program, "Downtown Dialogues" Maydene Koppel, aka "Mrs. Beasley of Dog Treat fame" joined me to talk about this upcoming Saturday fun fest.  She'll be there as she has been all winter and trying one of her treats for your "new friend" or that critter who has been enhancing your life for years, will further cement your relationship.

You can get more details about this Saturday (10 AM - 2 PM) and enjoy my chat with Mrs. Beasley at the link below:
