CONCORD, NH — While the summer, so far, has been a bit on the soggy side, tourists and natives are still making plans to have fun and enjoy the Granite State.

This has led the New Hampshire Liquor Commission to offer a new contest. Think of it as a staycation with cocktails. The commission launched a new website this week, Welcome Back to New Hampshire, which offers resources and tips as well as coupons and even a quiz. A contest, too, features the chance to win an all-expense-paid weekend trip to the state valued at $3,500.

“Our NH Liquor & Wine Outlets draw 12 million annual customers from across North America and we are thrilled to formally welcome them back through this initiative,” Joseph Mollica, the chairman of the commission, said. “With endless opportunities to explore our beautiful state at any time of the year, it is fitting this campaign highlights all the Granite State has to offer by encouraging visits to our state’s many restaurants, lodging attractions, and tourist destinations.”

Gov. Chris Sununu agreed, adding the state had some of the lowest prices and best selection in the country.

“The 603 is known for our tax-free shopping and first-rate customer service, so this initiative is important in welcoming back everyone for the summer, highlighting how much the Granite State has to offer,” he said.

The contest features $1,500 in lodging credits, $1,000 in travel expenses, $500 in dining credit at restaurants, a $250 outlet gift card, $100 gift cards to spend at both NH Made and the League of NH Craftsmen, and a $50 state park gift card. The liquor discount coupons must be used by Aug. 31 and the promotional period runs through Aug. 20. The winner will be announced in September. The contest is open to both in-state and out-of-state residents.
