Marshals Seek Info On 'Armed And Dangerous' New Hampshire Felon

CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public's help finding a felon with an "armed and dangerous" warning who is accused of theft and firearm charges.

Mathew Eric Nuernberg is 27, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes. Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said Nuernberg has tattoos on his neck, arms, and legs as well as scars on his left eye and left arm.

A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Strafford County Superior Court on March 3.

"Mr. Nuernberg is being sought on an arrest warrant for bail violations stemming from an original charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft," he said. "Nuernberg was last known to reside in Rochester but is known to have ties throughout the tri-city area of Dover, Somersworth, and Rochester."

Due to the warning, if you see someone who looks like Nuernberg or you know where he is, do not attempt to apprehend him. Contact police or the task force at 603-225-1632.

Nuernberg was convicted on robbery and falsifying physical evidence charges in January 2017, both felonies, after an incident in Somersworth in January 2016. Three other robbery charges were dropped as part of the plea deal. Nuernberg was sentenced to 18 months in prison, mandatory minimum, with 227 days time served, on the robbery charge. He received a sentence of four years in prison with a mandatory minimum of two years, all suspended for five years, on the evidence charge. In May 2018, he was accused of felony theft and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon after an incident in Dover and a felony receiving stolen property charge in October 2019 out of Dover. Information about those cases was not readily available online.
