Minivan Crashes Into Historic Pembroke Grange: Watch

Police, firefighters, and the Tri-Town Ambulance were called to Pembroke Street after a vehicle crashed into the side of the 1850s building.

PEMBROKE, NH — A vehicle crashed into a historic building in Pembroke on Sunday causing damage to an outside wall of the building.

Police and the Tri-Town Ambulance were sent to the Pembroke Grange No. 111 at Pembroke Street and Church Road for a crash around 3:30 p.m. A minivan reportedly struck a rock wall and then drove into the side of the building's outside brick wall. Dispatch stated the driver had passed out behind the wheel, according to witnesses.

EMTs arrived and reported a person on the ground and structural damage to the building and firefighters were requested to assist.

Firefighters inspected the building outside and reported to dispatch the damage was minimal but they wanted to check the inside of the building before releasing teams.

Tri-Town EMTs checked three people for injuries and then, went back into service.

A property representative met with firefighters and they inspected the inside of the building. At around 4:15 p.m., firefighters cleared the area.

The historic building was constructed in 1850. Members of the grange began holding meetings in the hall in 1885, according to the New Hampshire Grange website. The Pembroke SAU also uses the building, according to fire dispatch.
