CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire fugitive of the week has worked through his attorney to surrender to two county courts and move forward with his cases, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Thomas James Towle, 37, with a last known address of Milton, contacted his attorney late last week to make arrangements to be available for court hearings in Carroll and Strafford county superior courts, effectively surrendering to the courts, Jeffrey White, a deputy U.S. Marshal, said.

Prior attempts to arrest him were not successful, White said, so the task force was contacted. Towle was featured by the task force on April 7.

"I am very pleased to hear that Mr. Towle made the right choice to contact his attorney and make arrangements to surrender to the courts," U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said. "This is the first step necessary to get this matter resolved and move on with his life."

The cases, according to superior court records, stem from four incidents in Milton and Sanbornville.

Investigators accuse Towle of controlled drug: acts prohibited in June 2019. In a second case, from July 2019, he was accused of habitual offender, reckless conduct, controlled drug: acts prohibited, all felonies, as well as disobeying an officer after an incident in Sanbornville. Three days after that case, another controlled drug charge was issued against Towle. In August 2019, another controlled drug charge was issued against him out of Milton.

In all four cases, Towle was accused of failing to appear at status conferences in Carroll and Strafford county superior courts in September 2020, and had not been heard from since that time.
