NH Fugitive Working With Courts To Address Charge: Update

Attorney: Jessica Hughes, who was wanted on a fentanyl dealing charge in U.S. District Court, is in a program and setting a new court date.

CONCORD, NH — Another New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week has been tracked down and, in this week's case, has made court arrangements to answer to a fentanyl dealing charge at a future date.

Jessica Cory Hughes, 34, whose last known address was Milford, was featured on Wednesday in connection with an ongoing charge of felony possession with intent to distribute controlled drugs. A second warrant was also issued against her after she was released on bail — accusing her of violation of the conditions of her bail, according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal.

"After being featured as the Fugitive of the Week, several tips were received and the attorney for Ms. Hughes contacted the U.S. Marshals," White said. "The attorney was working with the U.S. District Court, U.S. Probation, and the U.S. Marshals to get the warrant recalled and a new court date set for a hearing about the alleged bail violations."

Hughes, he added, was currently in a program, "which is helping her current situation."

According to superior court records, Hughes pleaded guilty to three controlled drug: acts prohibited charges in January 2015 after incidents in Nashua. She was accused of drug possession again in Nashua in March 2019, but the case was nolle prossed. Three months later, she was arrested again on a charge out of Nashua but that was also nolle prossed. In July 2019, she was charged with dealing heroin and that charge was also nolle prossed in August 2020.
