In-Person Classes Return To Concord Community Music School
Music & Movement classes return to the in-person format April 5.

Press release from Concord Community Music School:
March 26, 2021
Concord Community Music School’s popular weekday Music & Movement classes return to the in-person format for our youngest musical learners, 4 months through 6 years, and their parents, grandparents, or caregivers, starting April 5. Led by Heather Oberheim, R-DMT, a wide range of classes engage children from head to toe, and keep everyone moving, singing, and laughing with songs, stories, movement games, rhythm instruments, and fun!
Classes will take place in the Music School’s Community Room in a safe, socially distanced setting. Classes may move outdoors to neighboring Fletcher-Murphy Park as weather allows. CCMS is strictly following all CDC and State of NH guidelines, including masks for all adults and for children capable of wearing them. Each class will be limited to 6 families to allow for social distancing. The cost is $90 per child/caregiver pair for one of the 7-week sessions listed below; there is no drop-in option at this time.
The Music School is committed to serving all families, and financial aid is available.

Mondays (April 5 - May 24)
Bouncing Babies (5 - 18 months): Mondays, 9:30-10:15 a.m.
This class will open the social structure of parents and young babies in a safe musical way. We will explore movement with song, try out percussion instruments, and provide moments to engage with your child. Parents will be provided time at the start and end of class for social engagement and stories of development and parenting. We will keep up the spirit as we sing (masked) and move with our babies.
Drums and Fun (18 months - 5 years): Mondays, 10:45-11:30 a.m.
Children and parents will have a chance to engage in drum exploration, movement, and marching, a time to find safe social engagement through movement stories. The second part of class will involve slowing down with finger-plays, story time, and a moment of breath and meditation.
Tuesdays (April 6 - May 25)
Musical Storytellers (3 - 6 years): Tuesdays, 9:45-10:15 a.m.
In this class, children and parents will find ways to express a story or poem using instruments, props, and their bodies. Miss Heather will lead the group in stories that come alive with percussive instruments, then add props to create a story map and lead stories that are filled with action words to engage movement and increase vocabulary.
Family Time Fun (18 months - 5 years): Tuesdays, 10:45-11:30 a.m.
We have been stuck at home and in our own bubbles for so long. This class is designed to provide a new space for families to “play” together but also have social connection with other families. We will be using drums and percussive instruments to explore songs and dancing moments all themed around family, connection, love, and compassion.
