There are a lot of hidden jewels that sparkle within our community. These are places that sometimes go under the radar except to those who know about them and savor all that they represent in making Concord even more fascinating.
The McGowan Fine Art Gallery is nestled at 10 Hills Avenue, just a stones throw from Hermano's. After devouring the most delicious Chicken Nachos on Planet Earth, I often stroll up Hills Avenue and pause at the brightly lit windows of the McGowan Gallery. It's the perfect dessert and there aren't any calories involved.
For some 34 years, McGowan Fine Art has been providing our community with "quality art in a friendly atmosphere" and there is always a reason to visit.
Their new show is entitled, "Thaw" and will definitely provide a welcome respite from the kind of winter that we've had. Here's a link to their website and more information about their shows and hours:

Sarah Chaffee has been the Gallery Director since 1997 and her infectious personality and genuine love for the Gallery, makes it impossible not to want to venture down Hills Avenue for a look.
There's a lot more to McGowan than even I realized. They do framing and consulting and will help even someone not certain as to how to complete a room with a piece of art, find just the right piece.
