Tis the Season!!

Despite the unusually warm temperatures of the past few days, the "Fall Season" is right around the corner. One sure sign of its impending arrival is this Sunday's "Gala" at Concord's beloved City Auditorium.

This 23rd annual start to a jam packed season of entertainment for everyone, also launches the 109th Season for the theatre.  For the next nine months the audi's stage will be filled with the sounds of music, dance and live theate not to mention the always interesting Walker Lecture Series, which is free.

An estimated 75,000 plus audience members will fill the house in the coming months to enjoy dance events, quality theatrical productions from The Concord Community Players, Barbershop Music, the Concord Community Concert Series, evenings of orchestral music and something for just about every taste. Even better -  it's all affordable. You don't need to take out a second mortgage to attend a show at the City Auditorium.

The Gala sets the stage for what is to come with a glimpse into what awaits you between now and June.

Sunday evening, the 15th, at the Gala, you'll find an Audi Arts Fair and the famous Arnie's Ice Cream Social - all for free. For the unheard of price of $ 5.00 you can attend the 7 PM  90 minute preview as to what will be an unforgettable season on stage with performances from local dance schools, theatre groups, music organizations and others who will delight you. There's also a Raffle and lots of other surprises.

If you've never been to the audi, this is your chance to join the thousands of regular attendees who make it a much enjoyed habit. It's a chance to see friends, make new friends and be a part of a great tradition in Concord.

On my WKXL radio show this week, "Downtown Dialogues", I chatted with Carol Bagan who knows more about the City Auditorium than just about anyone else. She talks about the history of the place as well as Sunday's seasonal launch. Here's a link to our discussion:
