CONCORD, NH — A man from the Lakes Region is wanted on a child rape charge and the U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force has been assigned to try and find him.

A warrant against Jeramy M. Hodges, 47, was issued by Laconia police on April 29. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs around 160 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair. Hodges is missing a finger on his right hand, has a tattoo on his left shoulder of an Indian skull, and skin discolorations on his right arm and hand, according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal.

"Hodges is being sought on an arrest warrant after being charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault on a child under the age of 16 and over the age of 13," he said. "Hodges has a criminal history that includes assault, violation of protective orders, and receiving stolen property. Hodges has known ties to the Laconia NH area, where he has family, friends, and associates."

Hodges also previously lived in Belmont, according to online sources.

Hodges' criminal history dates back to the mid-1990s when he was arrested for receiving stolen property in Tilton, criminal mischief in Laconia, and burglary in Gilford, Loudon, and Pittsfield, according to superior court records. After pleading guilty to charges, he was sent to prison. But later, in 1999, he was accused by the state of violation of probation. Along with the charges mentioned by White, Hodges was arrested by New Hampshire State Police in July 2020, on a driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charge while on Interstate 93 in Londonderry.
