Residents in Penacook can use the Canal Street Municipal Parking Lot, located at the corner of Village and Canal streets near Chief's Restaurant, during the overnight hours. This lot, the city said in an alert Saturday, has signs saying no overnight parking. But during city-wide winter parking bans, the overnight parking ban is suspended.

"Please only park in the public spaces on the south side of the lot along Canal Street and do not block the construction gate into the adjacent Penacook Landing," the alert stated.
