• Merrimack rejects chicken ordinance (unionleader.com) — Merrimack’s Town Council has unanimously dropped a proposed chicken ordinance after a packed public hearing where residents strongly opposed limits on backyard flocks and rooster bans. Locals argued the rules clashed with the town’s rural character and property rights, urging neighbors to resolve noise disputes themselves. For now, rooster ownership and small-scale chicken keeping in Merrimack remain unchanged.
