2 Barnegat Residents Charged In Drug Bust
Two Barnegat residents were among four people arrested Tuesday in a drug bust, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — Two Barnegat residents were among four people arrested Tuesday in a drug bust, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The arrests were the result of an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Narcotics Strike Force and several police departments into drug activity in Ocean County, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Detectives established surveillance on a home in Barnegat on Tuesday. Authorities saw Elex Hyman, 49, and Jaime Steen, 38, both of Barnegat, travel to an area in Toms River, Billhimer said.

Hyman met with another vehicle that was occupied by Jesse Jackson, 38, of South Toms River and Alicia Walker, 44, of Union Beach, Billhimer said.
After the vehicles parted ways, detectives executed motor vehicle stops on both vehicles. Detectives found about 63 grams of powder and crack cocaine, 150 wax folds of heroin and 100 ecstasy tablets, according to Billhimer.

Hyman, Steen, Jackson and Walker were arrested and lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing, Billhimer said.
Hyman and Steen were charged with possession and distribution of cocaine.
Jackson was charged with possession of cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute. Walker was charged with possession of cocaine, heroin and ecstasy with the intent to distribute.
About $14,500 was also seized from the home after detectives conducted a search.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Asset Forfeiture Unit, Barnegat Township Police Department Crime Reduction Unit and Patrol Division, Toms River Township Police Department Special Enforcement Team, Stafford Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit and K-9 Unit, Ocean Township Police Department Detective Bureau, Lacey Township Police Department Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
