2 Flown To Hospital After 3-Car Manahawkin Crash
Officials redirected Route 72 traffic around the crash for about an hour.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Two people were flown to the hospital Thursday for further evaluation after a three-car crash on Route 72.
A Jeep Cherokee traveled eastbound at 4:36 p.m. Thursday on Route 72, approaching Breakers Drive. As the driver approached the intersection, he attempted to make a left turn into Circle K.
At this time, a Hyundai Elantra traveling west on Route 72 struck the Jeep, Stafford police said. The Elantra then traveled into the eastbound lanes on Route 72 and struck a Mercedes Benz.

Officials flew the drivers of the Elantra and Mercedes to the hospital for further evaluation. The Elantra driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt, police said. Both of their vehicles had to get towed.
