
At a special Eagle Court of Honor to be held on April 27, 2019, 2019 at 4pm at Village Lutheran Church in Forked River, NJ. Adam A. Bahooshian, Jr. of Forked River, will earn the highest rank a Boy Scout can achieve and a new Eagle Scout will take flight. This honor is but one of the many achievements that makes this young man stand out from the others.
To earn this honor, Adam demonstrated his leadership ability by completing a project to benefit his community. He set his sights on building six bat houses and hung them at Lake Barnegat and Deer Head Lake in Forked River to help combat mosquito issues in the area.
Adam’s leadership abilities were already present in when he started in 2010 as a Wolf Scout, with Pack 35. He worked his way up through Bear and Webelos Ranks to become Arrow of Light, when he crossed over and joined Boy Scout Troop 26 in 2014.
After joining Boy Scout Troop 26, Adam’s scouting experiences took off. He has demonstrated leadership ability in the troop by being a Patrol Leader, the Troop Historian, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader.

Since 2009 Adam has participated in numerous events at the Joseph A Citta Scout Reservation such as Summer Camps, Operation Halloweens, District Klondike’s and District Webelos Woods. He has also attended several State Police Camporees at the Sea Girt National Guard Training Center in Spring Lake. Adam has attended several summer camps including the local Joseph A. Citta Boy Scout Camp in Waretown, NJ, and multiple summer camps in North Jersey, New York, Delaware and Connecticut. He has performed 83 hours of service in the community with the troop. He has hiked at least 44 miles. Adam has 98 nights of camping.
Besides the usual Totin’ Chip and Fireman Chit cards. Adam has also earned the Cyber Chip Award. He has also attended National Youth Leadership Training, which has taught him important leadership skills. Adam was also selected to attend RYLA; Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp in July 2018.

Adam attends Lacey Township High School. He is involved with Association Against Alcohol and Drugs, ADDA, the Jr. Rotary Interact Club, the Fishing Club, the Silver Lining Year book Club and the Table Top Gaming Club.
Adam is the son of Deirdre and Adam Bahooshian of Forked River. Deirdre is employed at the Ramada Inn in Toms River, NJ. His father, Adam Bahooshian, is employed by Clayton Concrete. His father also has been an assistant scout leader for many years in Troop 26. Adam will be the first family member to receive the honor of Eagle Scout. Adam also has a brother, Jacob. Adam also likes to draw and hang out with his friends.
Adam’s Eagle Project, like all Eagle Projects is to demonstrate leadership. Adam’s project was to plan, fundraise, shop and supervise volunteers building and installing six bat houses at Lake Barnegat and Deer Head Lake in Forked River. These help with the mosquito problems in the area.
Adam would especially like to thank and his parents, his friends, and all who made his Eagle project possible. He would also like to extend his appreciation to all the people who donated the materials needed. He would like to recognize and thank 84 Lumber, Bob’s Square Deal and the Home Depot for donations to his project. Adam would also like to thank the scouts and leaders of Boy Scout Troop 26 for their hard work on the project and for exemplifying the Scout Oath and Law. He sincerely appreciates the time and energy of everyone who supported him in completing his Eagle project.
Adam’ future plans with an Associate’s Degree in Science and to go into Marine Biology.
