Annual Pirates' Day Coming Up in Barnegat on Saturday

BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, NJ - Pirates have been proudly plundering the eastern shores of the American Colonies since 1699.
And this Saturday, some well-known re-enactors will be at be at Gazebo Park to teach you how they did it, at the annual Barnegat Pirates Day.
Valhalla Pirates and Ye Pyrete Brotherhood will invade the Sept. 8 event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park on West Bay Avenue and Route 9.

So dig out your pirates costumes and compete in the costume contests in the Pirates Cove section at the Bayside Chapel booth.
The event is sponsored by the Barnegat Chamber of Commerce and the Barnegat Township Recreation Department.
SubscribeRoughly 175 crafters and vendors will also be on hand, along with a number of live bands that will play throughout the day on stages into the evening. Pirate festival food will also be available for purchase.
