Barnegat girl shows what being amazing is

What does it mean to be an amazing kid? It means working hard, and facing up to situations, and doing your best. It means holding on to the sunshine and smiles and hope. It means having the guts to be yourself. And it means having tremendous goals and dreams that keep you reaching for the stars. This is a wake-up call for children globally to rise above and beyond and be the person they want to be. To stand tall, reach for the stars, and to dare to be amazing! It's not any secret kids can be amazing as 12-year-old Jem Glover from Barnegat has shown. Since the wise age of three, Jem Glover has known exactly what she has wanted to be when she grows up: a movie star. Jem says she wants to act or sing, but battles with stage fright more so with singing. Jem received a vocals' scholarship through the Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation. With this scholarship, Jem could and continues to take lessons to improve her vocals and help to continue her journey to reach for her dreams. Jem continues to try to overcome her fears and keep moving forward, as a previous contestant on the NAM pageant as well, and now trying out new opportunities as they are presented. Her proud parents aren’t the only ones taking notes, as Jem is now one of a few candidates to audition for an HBO series called, The Righteous Gemstones. As far as Jem's parents are concerned even if she is not cast, they are happy for her courage and drive. Jem Glover is just one example of "Amazing things can Happen."That is the beautiful thing about Jem,” her mom, Dawn, adds.“She focuses on what she can do and not on what she can’t do.”Despite things that have tried to bring Jem down from the age of two all the way through the years to now, Jem has not allowed anything to stop her from trying. She continues to try her best, while also being a kindhearted soul volunteering her time when she can, and being a role model big sister to her 10-year-old Autistic brother, teaching him that his fears can be overcome, and anything is possible.
