Barnegat Police To Collect Unused, Expired Prescription Drugs
Police will be stationed at two locations in Barnegat to collect unused and expired prescription medications on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
BARNEGAT, NJ — The Barnegat Township Police Department is once again participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this weekend.
Officers will be stationed at two locations in Barnegat to collect unused and expired prescription medications on Saturday, April 24 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
“Please help prevent prescription drug theft and misuse by cleaning out your medicine cabinet,” Barnegat police wrote on Facebook.

The locations include the Bayside Chapel at 965 West Bay Ave and the Barnegat Post Office at 830 West Bay Ave.
Vape pens and e-cigarette devices will also be collected. All batteries must be removed prior to disposal. Syringes will not be accepted.

For anyone who cannot make the event, a Project Medicine Drop Box is available 24 hours a day in the lobby of the police department for people to dispose their unused prescription medications.
